DocuSign Awarded 2014 Microsoft Office and SharePoint Partner of the Year

DocuSign Beats Competition from 117 Countries To Win Microsoft Office And SharePoint App Developer Partner Award For 2014

Cloud based e-signature service provider DocuSign has been named the winner of the 2014 edition of the Microsoft Office and SharePoint App Developer Partner. DocuSign was named the winner from among 2800 entrants from 117 countries worldwide. The announcement comes less than a month after the digital signature provider announced a new mobile framework that will allow businesses to integrate their functionality natively into mobile apps. With hundreds of business applications requiring the use of cloud-based digital signature technology on their platform, DocuSign's announcement is timely.

The announcement comes close on the heels of a partnership signed between Microsoft and DocuSign earlier this year that would make DocuSign's cloud transaction management platform available widely within Office365 and SharePoint. This is expected to benefit the thousands of enterprise Office users who will now no longer be required to move out of Office for signing and submitting documents.

Over the past year, Microsoft has aggressively pursued partnerships with cloud based service providers to enhance the profile of Office 365 and SharePoint. The past two months alone has seen more than a dozen cloud services like Layer2, Egnyte, Okta and Mulesoft announce their integration plans with SharePoint. While these cloud integrations have made SharePoint much more sophisticated, it has also made it more complex. Consequently, SharePoint governance tools are now a growing need among enterprises that have SharePoint deployed on their servers.

It is under these circumstances that the award given to DocuSign is significant. The partnership between Microsoft and DocuSign not only solves a critical pain point for the users of Office 365 and SharePoint, but also highlights a seamless integration model that could well be adopted by other cloud businesses looking at integrating their service with SharePoint and Office 365.
