Cloud Technology Partners Announces Private Beta of PaaSLane

PaaSLane speeds the transition of applications to PaaS and has strong support for Cloud Foundry

"Enterprises are seeking 'on-ramps' to a platform like Cloud Foundry that make their overall application delivery pipeline and development more agile and productive," said James Watters, Head of Product, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, as Cloud Technology Partners today announced the private beta availability of PaaSLane, a software tool that reduces the time and effort required to migrate applications to the cloud.

"We are excited that PaaSLane speeds the transition of applications to PaaS and has strong support for Cloud Foundry out of the box," Waters continued, adding:

"We are working closely with enterprises and members of our ecosystem including Cloud Technology Partners to define enterprise PaaS."

Traditionally, cloud migration assessments are a manual process that can take months and cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. PaaSLane automates the process by evaluating application source code against a customizable rules engine to identify cloud compliance and compatibility issues.

"Our clients are moving hundreds of enterprise applications to multiple cloud platforms and need an effective way to clearly identify issues and estimate the effort required to make the move. We built PaaSLane to systematically accelerate migrating applications to the cloud," said John Treadway, senior vice president at Cloud Technology Partners. "PaaSLane inspects application code to find the underlying causes of these issues in a matter of minutes so development teams can start fixing them immediately," Treadway added.

PaaSLane has been recognized by a number of leading PaaS providers including ActiveState and Pivotal as it enables application development leaders and application owners to make more informed decisions regarding which applications to migrate and helps determine which PaaS is best suited for their portfolios.

"ActiveState's Stackato PaaS technology has always supported enterprise development teams that code in multiple languages," said Bart Copeland, CEO, ActiveState. "We're pleased to work with Cloud Technology Partners to enable easier migration of existing applications to the cloud with PaaSLane," Copeland noted.

PaaSLane identifies coding errors that would block applications from running in a particular PaaS, tracks the progress of development teams as issues are resolved and improves quality control during cloud deployments.
